Glogster Poster

You will be working with a partner to create an online poster, using the website above, for one of the following topics that were studied in class (FERTILIZERS, HERBICIDES or PESTICIDES). In addition to this, you and your partner will engage the class in a 5-10 minute presentation that showcases the main components and features of your online poster. Your poster will need to contain the following elements:
A. TOPIC TITLE & ITS MAIN USES/FUNCTIONS
In this section, you will describe the topic you have chosen as well as its major function. You will also be required to include information on why there is a need for it. In this section you can use point form and shorter sentences and diagrams/images to illustrate the topic you have chosen.
B. DIAGRAMS & PICTURES
On your poster, you will need to include images highlighting your topics major use.
C. VIDEO
You will also need to include a video (i.e. from YouTube) on your topic, which will help the class to better understand the reason for its use but that will also highlight the controversy about its use and regulation. Why are people opposed to the use of these chemicals? What evidence exists that either supports or refutes these arguments.
D. “QUICK FACTS”
In addition to describing the major function of your topic in Part A, you also need to incorporate 5 additional “Quick Facts” about your topic. These facts should be used to showcase interesting features that your classmates may not have already known. Ex. Use of pesticides has doubled in the last 30 years.
E. HEALTH
The final section of your poster should be dedicated to discussing the health risks as well as include both the negative and positive impacts/benefits.
PRESENTATION
You and your partner will also sign up in class for a presentation date to walk us through your online Glogster Poster. This presentation will be about 5-10 minutes and must highlight the key features of your poster to the class. How you choose to present these key ideas to the class will be a method of your choosing.
ANNOTATED BIBLIOGRAPHY
On your presentation date, you will also be handing in an annotated bibliography for ALL of the references you consulted for your research material (this includes content related information, pictures, diagrams etc.). In this annotated bibliography you will need to include the following: full citations for all of your sources, followed by a brief paragraph (3-4 sentences) that describe your source (i.e. what is this source talking about and how can it be useful to you in your research?). 4-5 sources are a sufficient number to consult for this assignment.
